Halloween
As Halloween is just around the corner, Nortel organized a Night of Haunting two weeks ago. I was very curious about the event, so I quickly bought the ticket for the event. On the day of the event, I had dinner at work. At 7PM, the sky had fallen dark, I drove out of Nortel campus and headed towards Pinewood Orchard. After a few windings, I parked my car on an grass area. I recognized a few co-workers who had been waiting outside, next to a ruffling tractor. I went into a barn and signed in. A barn worker briefly introduced the events to me. I picked Corn Maze to start with. I held my flashlight and headed towards the corn maze. On the way, I was joined by a crowd of people who were also heading to the maze. Our crowd walked into the maze and followed each other. Until we hit a prop, some of us ignored it and kept walking. A family of four including two young kids in costumes and I stopped at the prop and answered the question shown in front of the prop. Afterwards, we walked together to find the next prop. Since it had rained in the afternoon, the soil in the corn maze was extremely muddy and slippery, but I couldn't care less. Occasionally a masked man with a chain saw and a witch pop out from the maze to startle us. We sometimes hit a dead-end and other times, we walked back to the same prop. After some trial and errors, we finished 6 out of 7 props and successfully walked out of the maze.
My next stop is the monster house behind the barn. Inside the monster house, we saw the Monster's buffet dinner including eye ball stir fry and intestine stew. Two butchers were packaging some fresh human flesh. Another one was trying to keep a young woman alive by drilling through her tummy. It wasn't scary but quite gory.
Finally I finished all the events. On the way out, my car wheels kept spinning in the mud. I was redirected to drive through a drier path and eventually "escaped' of the haunt night.
