Dragon Boat Practice

I've been to dragon boat races several times, but it was my first time to attend a behind-the-scene practice.

The sun is nearly set, we arrived at Hog's Back canal. Several of my friends were joined by 20 or so other young males and females at the canal bank. Shortly the dragon boat arrived. They orderely boarded the boat. The serenity of the canal was suddenly broken by the drummer's commands and and water's splashing. Each peddle was so strong that it almost roused water at the bottom of the canal. The 25 people peddled away in a synchronous pace. Shortly the boat disappeared from my eyes.
An hour later, the boat returned to the bank. All of my friends came off the boat looking exhausted. Their shorts were soaking wet, their backs hurt. But they still have a smile on their face. I know that smile, it's a smile to win.

Karaoke

Last night, a few friends and I went to this K-King Karaoke place. The place is modernly decorated with a dimly lit hallway with many cubicle rooms on both sides. The owner led us into one small room. We ordered some food and got ready for the blast. Lancy, Quinny, and Dennis were quite a few singers. They started stretching their voice right aways. Wei, Tony, and I digged into the food while listening them carry away. Before long, Tony and I joined the singing flock with a few English songs. Soon, Wei also dove into singing with a Chinese song. At the end of the evening, we were a group of singing kings and queens.

A new life

You may have noticed that I have a three months void in my blog. It just proves that I am not very consistent in my say-do ratio and is something that I need to correct.

A lot of things have happened in the last three months. To give you a glimp: in February, I launched a website design project for Beijing 2008 Olympics. In May, I drafted another website for my father's company. In June, I broke up with my dear boyfriend, ending an almost four-year long relationship.

Oh no no, I am not an adept web designer, but I enjoy doing it since I learned the basics of HTML. My first website was about Albert Einstein, the most eminent and intelligent person in the 21 centurry.

And no no no, I am not depressed about the break-up anymore. I was quite emotional for a while. Suddenly I woke up thismorning, the sun shone into my eyes with intense warmth and promise. I opened my eyes to welcome its warmth and told myself: "a new day has come".

I will always remember the wonderful three years. It was also full of passion, happiness, and promise. Although days have past and now become history, one thing stays and always will: "tomorrow is a better day".
